Is this longsword even halfway decent? I honestly have no clue by this point. My brain kind of numbed down thanks to all the lack of seriousness that is Joker.

If you wanted, you could also replace Tornado Blade for Zero Zero. It's not a big damage dealer, but does give you something that can activate yellow Soul Voices, and builds Overdrive ranks fairly quickly. I prefer the TP generation of Tornado Blade...though if you've a proper support chatacter with Energy Source or Last Stand feeding you TP, you don't need to worry about that.

As far as augments go, adding Appendage Crusher augments gives a huge bump to the Core Crusher + Ether weapon set-up. Each enemy body part has a 'hardness/softness' stat, ranging from -5 to 5, each Appendage Crusher applies a -1 to a targeted part. At -5, you do +250% damage with every hit to body parts, which don't break thanks to Core Crusher, which then does even more damage...awesome combo.

For random mobs, I carried 5 Appendage Crushers at all time. Of note, Yggralith Zero, the Global Nemesis, has a body part with a natural -3...his Heart which is exposed after breaking his chest plate. As long as nobody breaks it, you can do massive damage to him with only 2 Appendage Crushers, to get to the max -5 modifier, then stack other things like Ultrafauna Slayer.

Sadly, Telethia Plume's body parts are all 0s, so you have to bring 5 Appendage Crushers for the total +250% bonus.

Luckily, Appendage Crushers are super cheap to craft, making stacking them a huge damage bonus for relatively little investment.

Now I have a problem, for custom uses like what you mentioned, which of these is better? In this situation does Rarity even matter?

Rarity just determines how many abilties it has, no other stats. The best abilities that can be found on a Spatha are Potential Boost, which ups Blossom Dance's damage, and Melee Attack Up, which ups the damage of regular arts like True Stream Edge..both are affected by the arts' Hit Scaling. Weapon Attack Power Up gives a lesser overall boost to all attacks as it isn't affected by Hit Scaling.

Melee Accuracy Up and Weapon Attack Power Up would be about the same priority in my opinion, but a Spatha really wants to have both Potential Boost and Melee Attack Up, both of which should be upgraded to XX rank.

Alternatively, if you want to use Receding Rust, you'd want one with Weapon Attack Power Up and Ultrafauna Slayer, and then hopefully something nice like Melee Accuracy Up or Ultrafauna Criticals Up. Rust is a Six Stars branded weapon, so no Potential Boost available.

As far as Dual Guns go, the Dryads line of guns from Candid & Credible is what you want, particularly a Dryads II, as they are Ether-bases. C&C guns can rarely get both Potential Up and Potential Boost, providing a huge leap in Blossom Dance damage.

I wasn't able to find a Potential and Melee attack up Spatha but I did find one with potential, and these dual guns were just insane luck again. Good enough?

Besides, once Booming Business is done I'll just load 'em with empty slots and put a Melee up XX in.

My mistake, Dryads I, not II, are Ether-based...been a while since I've played. For most purposes, what you've found will serve you well. If you want to push the limits of damage, of course, you'd been on a Diablo-esque quest for perfect loot. Now you just need a bunch of Potential Up augments for your armor, and preferably a gauntlet that gives Extended Overdrive.

Also, helmets can be found with both Potential Up and Potential Boost...those are the only findable pieces of armor that come with Potential. There are, however, store-bought pieces of every type that give Potential that are useful for squeezing every last drop of damage out of Blossom Dance.

One note about armor, since Ghostwalker protects you, you can forego using heavy armor for protection, and instead use light armor, as it has more ability upgrade slots, letting you upgrade Potential mods, etc, up to max.

For skills, the only mandatory one is Core Crusher. After that, fill in the rest of your slots with whatever combination of the following works best for you: Inner Search - More Potential = more Blossom Dance damage Ether Boost Aura Assault - better overall than Mighty Muscle Supreme Sword Fast Forward & Secondary Accelerator - Faster deployment of triple cooldown Blossom Dance

Background Noise & Dirty Fighter - great if you have a teammate who can Topple-lock enemies Also, if you go the speed route, having equipment with Aura Rapid Cooldown on top of Secondary Accelerator and Fast Forward lets you throw out Blossom Dances like crazy...they won't do as high damage as if you use more buff skills, but you'll do a lot more of them. Either way works well.
