problems with nintendo network.

ive been trying to play battle today because the physical copy of the game just came out in my country. whenever i try to go into the minigames tab it says that im not connected to the nintendo network. when i press connedt it loads for about 5 to 10 seconds and then it comes up with the error code '101–0502'. i dont know what to do so hopefully you can help!
