Years away from the juvenile controversy that surrounded this game on its original release, it's obvious that it is a masterpiece. Though not without flaws, The Wind Waker, more than any other Zelda game, is a unified creative achievement. There are no loose ends: the story, the visuals, the characters, the setting, the music, the gameplay...everything contributes to its perfectly realized vision.
