Anyone bilingual or a polygot?
As in what languages do you speak or which ones are you trying to learn? English and French are my main ones, but I'm thinking about picking up German and maybe a non-Roman language such as Chinese or Japanese just to mix it up a bit. But what about you guys? What can you speak/are you trying to learn?

@Resee: Me and friend were learning via the internet(And over the phone). Then we stopped for a while. I'll see if she want's to keep going. @(I don't know other language SYMBOLS 0-0): I mean sorta both, but mostly the Japanese word for cats. Like my neko sleeping right now. He's a tabby cat. Also: Last post NOOOOOOOOO! See you guys tomorrow!

@Aisha - No problem! :) And I live in the UK as well! ^-^ I'm glad I found you too! :3 @Meyette - Oh! The internet is very useful for stuff like that! You can find lots of things online that will help you learn. I will say though, you'll need to be able to read the Japanese symbols too - so I suggest learning the Hiragana symbols first (eg: あ え い お う and so on)

@Meyette There's this really cool thing online that you can download for free which is called 'Hiragana 42'. It makes learning the symbols easier since it makes them look like pictures! For example, the symbol for 'ku' looks like this: く It kinda looks like a beak of a bird that would make a cuckoo noise (kuku)

I am trying to learn Japanese. The only words I know so far are "baka" and several other words that almost everyone knows.

Nice! But don't try just learning things off anime! :0 It really, really won't work. It would be like trying to learn Russian by watching a movie in the language - You're not gonna pick much up! :/ But if you're serious about it, keep going! It's going to be hard with all the complex sentence structures though, but if go for it if you're determined! :)

You're going to need to learn at least 2000 Kanji characters on top of Hiragana, Katakana and vocabulary to achieve conversational Japanese. It's a lot of hard work, but as I said, just keep at it and get a load of resources for learning. ^-^ Unfortunately, anime won't help you learn Japanese though, since you won't find people yelling "baka" and "senpai!!!" on the streets, haha.

That's great! Yeah, Japanese is really tricky, but it really does sound nice. I find that Korean has a very nice flow to it too. Definitely learn French! It's super useful (At least where I live, haha) I've started to pick up some German too - pretty easy once you know another European langue or English.

No problem! ^-^ French can be difficult sometimes, I will admit, but every language is hard in the end. Ohh man, kanji is really awful to remember but I always try to think of them as drawings, if I can. 雨 <- This one looks like you're watching rain from a window, so it's easy to associate it to the correct word. Irish seems pretty cool! ^-^ I never thought about learning it though :0

Honestly though, when I first started trying to learn Japanese wayyy back when I was 11, I was trying to learn it off anime XD I used to be such a weeaboo back in the day because I'd always be yelling "You're kawaii desu senpai" and so on, and I made such a fool of myself, haha. Those were some terrible times in my life, I'm glad I actually started learning it properly with books and resources.

Nice! It's nice to have international friends! ^-^ One of my closest friends is Spanish and I used to learn it at school but my teacher was really bad so I go bored of it, unfortunately. France is really wonderful, although I prefer the countryside because there are loads of ancient castles that I like to visit! ^-^ Nice to meet you, Reiko! :>

Oh man, I used to want to be a manga artist back in the day XD I think I'm going to be a lawyer now though, haha. Yeah, I remember when I was a kid, no one knew that Japan existed and if you ever said anything about it, all the little kids just thought you were talking about China. I've never been to Ireland, but I've seen photos of it! It looks very pretty, and I like Celtic folklore! ^-^
