Book & Anime Series Suggestions Needed

I need a new summer book & anime series. Books: Thriller, Mystery(murder/investigation), Fantasy/Magic. Some romance is okay. Anime is same but I prefer adventure as well and less mystery/thriller (unless its like Deathnote.)

    Personally I suggest RWBY. (anime) RWBY would fall under the Action, Adventure, Fantasy & Comedy genre.

    Game of Thrones has fantasy, murder, and mystery. I'm not into anime though, but I have seen RWBY, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and The Legend of Korra which I have heard take huge inspiration from anime and have entertaining adventures nonetheless.

    I actually am waiting to see the 5th season of the Legend of Korra. I probably should rewatch Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's been awhile. I can't watch Games of Thrones unfortanetly, I really want to though.

    Hmm... Maybe try Higurashi if you haven't already?? It's really bloody, but there's *some* mystery (like in the different arcs, they try to figure out the cause of several mysterious deaths) but if you haven't watched it yet, maybe check it out. ((Also, RWBY IS NOT AN ANIME PEOPLE!!!!))

    @Glurp I had no idea it was a book, people talk so much about the series.I'll try and see if my library has it. Sorry, @Mimi I've been meaning to watch that series since i'm into horror themed books and because I heard so much about it, but I can't find it anywhere.

    @Mimi: Technically you are right since RWBY is not Japanese and uses 3D CG animation, but it definitely takes inspiration, style, tropes, etc. from anime. The Japanese even thought it was pretty good and gave it a dub.

    I'd say I like the Lord of the Rings books and movies equally and I have not seen the Game of Thrones TV series yet so I cannot compare it to the books yet.

    You should watch Akame ga kill! It's a pretty resent anime. It's horror and Fantasy . So powers and swords and mythical creatures. The plot is a corupt government which a group of assassions named Night Raid reformed the government trying to assassionate high ranking officers. It's really good its 24 episodes and will have you on your seat. Youcan watch it on Crunchyroll and mabey youtube.

    I've tried Akame ga Kill. I watched 1-3 episodes and then school got in the way. I should try to watch it again and give it a chance.

    Well, I guess it justs depends but in my experience its usually the book thats better. I think the Lords of the Rings movie really tried compared to most movues based on books
