    As of the end of season 2, he's not dead yet. Unless there were some episodes that just came out that I didn't know of. Dave Faloni even discussed the idea the Rex fought with Han, Chewi, and Leia on Endor. Thats not cannon as of now, but that would be pretty cool if it happened.
