    because mh sells better on handhelds? mhp3rd sold 4 mill on psp and that was only in japan.

    The Monster Hunter franchise got most of it's momentum in Japan off the handheld versions. Over there mobile gaming is just much easier for them. However in the case of 4U especially, it and 4(which we didn't get cause they immediately saw ways to improve the U version), are the very first time a handheld MH game will have true online capability like the consoles. It's a major selling point.
