  • This is a cool idea, Hawkeye! How about if the weapon was like a morning star in whip form, and when it was retracted it could work as a mace?

  • I like the customizable aspect of it. ATNIII's morning star whip idea should be a customizable part. Here's my idea to try to balance it out: What if it loses damage when you hit the monster at close range to point blank range. The weapon will do regular damage when you're mid range and will do extra damage at the tip of the whip (the attachment). Cont.

  • You can charge it and move like a hammer, but you can only strafe while charging from trying to keep twirling around the whip without it going haywire). This charge is more like a Great Sword charge than a hammer charge. You should use the mobility to position yourself farther or closer for a precise hit. It has a lot of reach for a cutting melee weapon even surpassing the Switch Axe (Axe mode).

  • sweet idea i would give it a go. mine is like brass knuckles or massive gloves/claws. they would have a special ability to counter while still taking damage (maybe reduced?) and send projectiles back (like deviljo rock throw) or grab a tail as its swinging and let other monsters whack on them a min. Brachy about to pounce you? catch them on the landing and flip them over!

  • The insect glaive is a wep that does both cutting and blunt damage also but with this wep that hawk eye came up with u can customize it 2 be purely either i take it. I always did wanted a whip like wep in the series.

  • I've seen a weapon concept like that in the anime, but it was more like a chain whip with blade joints, it's weakness was durability, but it had a huge damage output.

  • Just remembered that i saw that whip in the Manga, not the Anime, Also a wish of mine would be a ranged weapon that specialized in cutting damage, or a dual purpose bowgun frame that had a blade fixed for reliable tail cutting duty.

  • A bayonet for bowguns, eh? Hmmm.... I like that idea, and I bowgun a lot now, so the only issue I see is controls. Capcom would either have to stick with the simple single melee attack the bowgun has now, or re-map the controls to allow for more melee attacks, which could get complicated.

  • Id actually would like a double headed axe mounted on the stock horizontally, you'd use the barrel as the handle and have a sudo axe.

  • It would lose the hinge joint (for strength), so handling would be like a heavy bowgun, but with slower sheathing. Also it would have a shallow magazine, and couldn't load supoort ammo, but have boosted Normal, pellet, and peirce. Lastly to switch modes you would just press + and the hunter would flip the weapon to grab the barrel and have an axe mode akin to the SA but with stiffer combos.

  • I have an idea for a 4U weapon too, with all of the vertical combat and rodeo mechanics. Basically you'd have 2 Hookshot style weapons in each hand with small sheilds mounted on them that would cover the forearms, you'd weild them like boxing gloves, and when needed a shell mechanism inside of the sheild could fire the blades like the hookshot, which would need a reload per launch.
