That "Princess of the Underworld" monster from mh online looks awesome. Very unfortunate for us that we don't constantly get updates for new monsters within the same game in the main series but monsters aside tho i still prefer the main series over the online ones, but those visuals on mh online and elemental effects does look very nice tho.

  • Main thing i hate bout the online mh games is the paid subscription and even some in game content has 2 be paid 4 and that's not worth it imo. I also like how they use their weps on frontier, them combos and power swings be ridiculously op lookin.

  • But the bright side is that since they're purely online games they constantly gets updates.

  • It's an mmo soit has to have constant updates to keep itself relevant. Main series games don't really need that because they pack the game with so much content. MHO is going to be free to play though and isn't a MH game.

  • MH online is a mh game just not a main series one its an online one like frontier. Tho frontier is more of an mmo but still. Ya ik MHO is free 2 play but i doubt it'll be in the long run and i did mention that since they're purely online they get constantly updated like any online game does.

  • But actually both are MMO's due 2 them being massively multiplayer games and is designed for online multiplayer play which is why the mmo ones are harder than the main series cuz of constant updating in the games difficulty and content.

  • It may look like a monster hunter game but the mechanics are changed. It won't be like your typical MH game. The game Will have you using skill rotations on a hot bar. So your just basically clicking and attacking and some dodging. It's a game designed for the Chinese market only. Looks like MH but it's gameplay mechanics seperate it from the main series.

  • Its different yes, so is frontier. But that doesn't mean its not a mh title due 2 being different and not apart of the main series its simply in a series of its own is all, its an online series just like frontier has its seasons updates. If it wasn't a mh game they wouldn't name it mh and it wouldn't share so many things from the series. Something being different doesn't make it not of the series-

  • -in its entirety, just different from each other. They have mostly the same weps, monsters, maps, items, and some of the attack patterns from weps are the same but more extended and improved upon as well as has new wep classes exclusive to their own series. Those MMO's are purely online so the game mechanics and controls are gonna be different due 2 that. I just don't discredit something as not-

  • -being a part of something just cuz its separate. MMO's aren't of the main series but they are a part of the series as a whole. All mh titles are within its own franchise.

  • Not trying 2 sound mean or anything from all this debating it just irks me when ppl are so quick 2 not claim something as being a part of the franchise just cuz its separate or sometimes made by different game developers like hyrule warriors. Its a spinoff and not a main zelda game but its still a zelda game regardless just with different gameplay which is of dynasty type gameplay.

  • But back on topic i was just pointing out its amazing visuals and how impressive that new mystery monster look from MHOL.

  • I'd say frontier is closer to the main series. Only difference is the dated second gen engine they use, more quest gimmicks, different combos, tonfa, and of course different monsters. The combat also seems to be at a slower pace. Guess it all depends on the monsters you fight. Also the drop rates are a nightmare from what I've heard.
