Hyrule Warriors actually has the most gruesome moment of any Zelda title, and it's not even a one time occurence. Ghiriham's ''Y'' Combo leaves blood spattered all over the ground.

  • Most Zelda games are E-rated.

  • Well what did you expect to come out of a monster? Candy?

  • Where in castle town?

  • I would also like to point out Ocarina of Time's Shadow Temple. That was very gruesome for an E rated game. Also, blood (& other stuff) was edited out of later releases of OoT (other Zeldas also had edits before leaving Japan), so who knows what gruesome stuff we're missing from the originals.

  • I also just remembered something else gruesome, though not technically IN a game. Nintendo's official 3rd Branch of the Timeline. Where all the games before OoT take place. That entire branch, according to Nintendo, only happened because Link fails (read dies) in OoT. Zelda is a very gruesome series. Relatively little is overly gruesome, but a heck of a lot that's hidden sure is.

  • Ganondorf's execution was really violent too. I was trying to say that this was the most graphic. By the way, have you ever wondered about the king in Ocarina of Time? The dying soldier implies that he fought but was killed.

  • The Hylian Soldier dying is more sad than anything else. There's lot of implied deaths, especially future Castle Town. Same thing with the implied death of one of the Link heroes, it's not actually violent. Shadow Temple is more arguable, since the presence of blood can actually bring the game rating up. Ocarina of Time is 16 years old, so it's not the same set of standards as back then.

  • That's one theory. Personally, I think he had more adventures and became a warrior. That's why he knows the secret skills and has his special armor. Plus, he never learned about his wolf spirit in OoT and MM. I also think he is mostly a skeleton because he was long dead.

  • I was really opposed to the idea that Hero's Shade was actually the Hero of Time or an incarnation of Link. To me, there weren't enough connections to link the characters together. But, Hyrule Hustoria confirms a lot of stuff, like Kaepora Gaebora = Rauru, and filled in lots of blanks. I believe that the Hero's Shade identity as OoT Link was one of the things they confirmed.

  • And yeah, Link definitely went on more adventures after the events of Majora's Mask. The Hero's Shade is quite tall, has a new outfit, and knows many new abilities, like Ivan said. And OoT Link never had any problems navigating the forest, whether as a kid or an adult. So the rumor of adults turning into Stalfos, if it's true, doesn't apply to OoT Link.

  • The Hero's Shade's story is also pretty sad. He was never remembered for anything because the two known times where he single-handedly saved the world were in different universes and he never even had an apprentice. Despite him being a hero and the most important Link, he never recieved any recognition in his own world.

  • Remember, OoT Link also had Navi to protect him. & what I meant about him returning & getting lost was he got older (& therefore had time to learn new skills) & eventually decided to return to his world, but was gone so long, he either couldn't remember how to navigate the woods; things were overgrown, so he couldn't recognize where he was; or when Epona took him to Termina, he couldn't take notes

  • Possibly... I've also heard a long convoluted theory about Link and the Stalfos King. But Link was a child, and as shown in OoT, lost people transform pretty quickly. So wouldn't Link become a skull kid, and not a stalfos?

  • Not if Link spends a decade in Termina before returning home. Remember, he never found Navi during Majora's Mask. Who knows where he went & how long it took for him to decide to try to make his way back to Hyrule. If he ran into another city or individual in trouble, & their authorities were as useless as Hyrule's or Clock Town's, I'm sure Link would help again.
