This game has the WORST tutorial I ever experienced. Just does a poor job of explaining any worthwhile to newcomers of the series. I've had this game for MONTHS and its still fustrating sometimes.

    Really? I thought the tutorials were decent. I like that there isn't much handholding. If you're having trouble, go watch ProJared's Beginers Guide to Monster Hunter.

    I played this game for a grand total of 6 hours over the course of a year. My biggest issue was finding a reason why I wanted to hunt monsters.

    There's a difference between handholding and giving actual good advice on what to do. I like the game and is adjusting to it but this tutorial is bad. How about having the NAMES of monsters above their freaking head?! Lol

    That's why you register the monsters in your notebook. And what reason do you need to hunt monsters other than ”it's fun“? Monster Hunter isn't a very story driven game you know.

    Actually u can just buy monster info books to register them now but on mh tri u had to register them manually in the hunters notebook. Most of mh tutorials in these later installments be in ur hunters notebook.

    Monster hunter games have never really done a good job at showing you the ropes. I reccomend an online guide for new monsters/materials.

    Since the game has a heavy emphasis on co-op, it wants you to ask other hunters for help. It's kind of like games from the 80's/early 90's where people figure things out and help each other. Certainly recommend reading guides online and asking for help.

    Monster Hunter games are notoriously bad at teaching new players things. In past monster games it was like "heres how to start a quest and gather. Got it? Good! Now go kill this monster that can KO you in 4 hits!" It took me hundreds of hours to even figure out how skills work and what they do. I recommed using the wikia constantly because it gives you basically all the helpfull information.

    Don't count on it. But if you learn enough about mh3u to be able to know what's going on, mh4u won't take much learning. Monster hunter changes the formula next to none with each installment
