    Using a fire weapon will help. Specifying what weapon type & what armor you're using will allow ppl here to give you better advice.

    Without knowing your weapon, I can say bring hot drinks and cleansers. If your weapon uses a lot of stamina (hammer), dash juice helps you keep using attacks and dodges even if you get iceblight, which would normally leave you with no stamina. Good luck!

    There are some items hidden in the arena, specifically, in some wrecked crates. One is in the center of the arena, which always gives 3 lifepowders. Another is by some wooden stakes sticking out from the wall, kinda by the entrance. Not much more to say. Check your skill set, sometimes making use of certain armor skills makes the battle a bit easier. Arena is all about knowing your target tho

    As you already know, you can't take your own gear & items in the Arena, so you have to make do with what you're given & what you find. The more you know your target monster, the better off you'll be. As you're using a longsword, I would say be careful when using Spirit blade combos. They definitely do a lot of damage, but you can't dodge while in the middle of one.

    Finally, target Barioth's wings first instead of the tail. Why? Because breaking it's wings reduces it's traction, so it will either slow down to compensate, or slide & lose it's balance, which gives you more opportunities to attack!
