    you can get stolen items back after they leave just find the areas with the yellow question mark

    like next to the veggie elder in deserted island, normally if you search it says nothing found. but feline item steels can be found there

    all the normal hunting maps have those areas some you just have to look for

    Actually, those aren't Felynes. Felynes (the light colored ones) don't steal from you. The ones that steal from you are the Melynxes (dark black ones).

    Bring felvine bomb or the mock melynx mask, the kitties will be too busy tripping balls and attacking the boss to bother with you. Just hope you don't get felvine'd instead.
