theres actually a term for somethin like that in tf mtmte, the term used was 'soft termination', for tranformers, they'd gently sever the connection from the brain to the spark, which shuts down their systems, and lets their spark fade out. i'd assume for these guys, they'd disconnect some connection from mind to life force, but in their case, they can have second chances
