You just do battles a bunch of times.You can get duck hunt dog for 60 battles or so or beat 1 enemy in cruel brawl.

Most characters have unique unlock conditions, but if you play VS matches over and over you'll eventually unlock them anyway.

Well to get lucina you have to play classic mode with marth i can tell you how to get everyone else once i figure how i unlocked all of my characters XD
