With more people having realized that you could Perfect Pivot, I'm actually kind of excited for the future of Smash 4. Although it's rather hard to do consistently, Perfect Pivoting could change the meta game a bit.. By how much? I'm not sure. Because it's hard to do, I wonder if many people will actually utilize it. I wonder if there will be another skill gap in the community if people master it.

  • What's a Perfect Pivot?

  • A Perfect Pivot is when you dash in one direction, then flick the stick in the opposite direction, and immediately let go. Basically your character dashes but turns around and slides. Sort of similar to Melee wave dashing, but more difficult to do. On frame 1 you dash, then on frame 3 you flick the stick, and on frame 4 you release it. So timing is crucial. You can add attacks to it. Look it up.

  • Hmmm...if only I was as interested in watching videos of tournament play as I did in my Brawl days. Lately I find conversing and playing to be far more preferable. Doesn't change the fact that I've stripped myself of an option to possibly improve myself especially since I also haven't done a ton of reading on Smash 4 and I don't have many people I really converse with in the first place.

  • I'm pretty much interested in improving because of my wanting to go to tourneys haha. Just lazy. I actually didn't watch tourneys at all when I played Brawl a ton, but now I watch smash 4 stuff and melee tourneys.

  • I've always wanted to improve for the sake of improvement. I used to find every aspect of improving enjoyable but not so much anymore. I have fun playing obviously and another thing that hasn't changed is my complete disinterest in winning but that brings me to my point. Why in the world would someone have fun playing a competitive game when he isn't competitive at all? I'd go on but I...

  • ...already posted something along these lines not too long ago if you are interested Chelsea. Personally I think I'm just being depressing and should just get over it.

  • I think it's fine just playing. A game is meant to be fun, whether you want to win or not, as long as you're enjoying it with the people around you. Play it because you want to, you know. Educated guesses are fine, actually. It's good to be able to read. There are also online tourneys now, but I'm not sure how well those are monitored.. Online practice is fine, especially with people that don't

  • mind casual conversation and stuff. The reason I played Brawl so much was that I always played with my younger cousins. I always beat them, and liked winning. Then I lost to a person I met, and he became my fuel to improve. Mostly, I just want to have fun. He has fun screwing around. And my cousins, they loved playing even while losing, but it was nice to see them all hyped when they beat me. I

  • still had fun though, and my cousins aren't exactly competitive, and idk where I'm going with this.. I just hope you feel better and stuff. As long as you have fun with smash, it's all good.
