Would you like Zelda U to include some sort of "transformation" in it, such as Wolf Link, the masks in Majora's Mask, painting Link, etc.? I think that sort of thing makes you think outside of the box because you have to go about solving puzzles differently than you normally would because you have different abilities. If there is transformation, what would you like Link to transform into and how?

  • I personally want a return of the Picori and the ability to turn tiny. Probably not going to happen, but a girl can dream. :)

    Yeahs1
  • @Carsten2.0 I feel like time will be a major part of Zelda U. That and archery. I think the slo-mo archery when vaulting off Epona will be more than a game mechanic and play a part in the story. I'm hoping Link has some sort of control over time. @BagofPlums The ability to hack the monster? That would be awesome! Now I'm really hoping something like that is in Zelda U. I wonder who thought of it.

    Yeahs3
  • @Marieke We still don't know much about Zelda U, so I'm just hoping that they will include something like transformation. If it doesn't happen, I'll still be happy to get a beautiful new Zelda game! @April The return of the Picori would be awesome! I really loved the Minish Cap and especially Vaati and Ezlo. Imagine how enormous the world would seem in Minish-size. It's already huge as it is!

    Yeahs4
  • I don't really want a transformation for Zelda Wii U. Controlling time would be awesome though!

    Yeahs0
  • The timeshift stones are one of only two things I liked about skyward sword. It would make me very happy if they expanded on that mechanic!

    Yeahs0
  • That would be awesome maybe it could be a sequel to Twilight Princess..... plus hear me out Nintendo.............PLEASE BRING BACK THE SPINNER!

    Yeahs1
  • Plus I know it won't happen.... but it would be cool if we could transform into a Zora (like in Majoras Mask) to travel through the ocean. That would add a whole new level of exploration!

    Yeahs1
  • Yep. It sucks I can't give the guy credit, I thought it was a really good idea.

    Yeahs0
  • Transformation is something I definitely want to see returning! Even if it's not in Zelda U, I hope they'll at least make a MM sequel someday that brings back the transformation masks! I also agree that the timeshift stones were a neat feature and that hijacking enemies would be cool! Crash Bandicoot has that power in Crash of the Titans and Mind over Mutant and it's a great gameplay enhancement!

    Yeahs0
  • It all are great ideas. I agree we don't know much at this moment. The game is huge so i know that there is a lot Nintendo didn't tell us at this point. I know it can be difficult but we just have to wait.

    Yeahs1
  • I like what BagofPlums said. I made a post along those lines once myself, so controlling the robots must be a widespread idea. I'd love to see it, especially since I had so much fun with Phantom Zelda in ST.

    Yeahs2
  • It was NoFaceFred's idea! I Just scrolled to his post about the arrow, I even commented on it.

    Yeahs0
  • Hm. Maybe not as widespread as I thought. Did I actual come up with something original for once?

    Yeahs1
  • Wow, a lot of comments since I last checked this post. Gah! Nintendo! I need more info on Zelda U! At least give us a title. Please? Is that too much to ask for? Considering that the titles of many of the recent Zelda games (all 3D ones and a few 2D ones) are either a pivotal character or item in the game, it might have to do something with them withholding the title until closer to the release.

    Yeahs0
  • Isn't there always a Nintendo direct at the beginning of every year? Maybe we'll get a subtitle in the next one, if not, then we'll get it at E3 for sure.

    Yeahs0
  • I notice that Nintendo has held a direct on Valentine's Day for the past two years in a row now. I don't know if this was intentional or a coincidence but if they go through with this apparent pattern it seems most likely that February 14th will be the day we hear more news about this. The fact that the next release of Amiibo is in February adds to the probably of a Nintendo Direct at that time.

    Yeahs0
  • Slight change of subject: What it Zelda U used voice-acting? Not as in everyone speaking the dialogue aloud in English, but in Hylian, more like the voice-over of Midna in TP or Fi in SS. Even better; each race could have their own distinct accent recognizable from the others'. Link would remain silent, of course. But it'd be neat if he could use spells again and chant in Hylian when casting them.

    Yeahs1
  • Now I can't wait until February! Plus that means it's closer to the release of MM3D and Zelda U anyway. I would love to have characters speak their own languages! Midna's was my favorite. It fit her perfectly and unscrambled it was actually English. I also loved Zelda's singing in Skyward Sword and Fi's language too. Now I'm really hoping they do something along those lines.

    Yeahs2
