  If you're an impatient person but you want to find tons of shinies, you're not going to have much fun because yes, you do need patience. Remember, patience is a virtue ♪ Think of it this way: the reason people want shinies is because how rare they are. If you found shinies in less than even two hours, their worth would be 0 and everyone would have loads of them.

  But if it helps, I can tell you a few methods on how to quickly and easily get shinies rather than relying on just pure luck. We'll start with the well know masuda method. What you need is a pokemon from a different country of origin and another from your country. When you breed them there will be a higher chance of getting a shiny pokemon upon hatching it. I don't know exactly 1 in how many, tho

  The second method is probably the most annoying, the chain method. I don't suggest it... You need the Pokéradar and a very big patch of grass. I suggest the purple patch of flowers near Camphrier town. Use the Pokeradar to make the grass move, and do it again and again, seeing the same pokemon all the time, until you get the shiny.

  The third method links in with the second one, it's called chain fishing. Like the chaining method for grass, you kerp fishing until you get the shiny you want, only that this time finding different pokemon, catching pokemon or running away doesnt break your chain, which is brilliant! You need any type of rod, a good body of water and a pokemon with the ability Suction Cups/Sticky hold for this.

  I used my Malamar for this, but you can use anything else. Fish in the spot you want and make sure not to reel in too fast or slow, as that breaks your chain. Once you start fishing, it took me only around 50 - 70 encounters to find a shiny for this. But because its much easier than the rest, the worth of the pokemon you can get from this method are quite low, but not useless.

  The last method is soft resetting. This is used for legendaries or pokemon you know you will encounter at a certain time, say for instance, Zygarde or Mewtwo. All you need to do is save right before you encounter the pokemon in battle, and, once youre battling, if the pokemon isnt shiny, turn off your DS but then turn it back on. Keep doing it again and again until you get the shiny you want.
