Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U Community

I seriously don't understand why now every time i try to battle online it doesn't work... it worked great when the 3DS Version first came out but then it didn't and the same thing happened with the Wii U version... I hate that error code so much... I just wanna battle online :/ anyone else having this issue on both versions?! Can't show the exact screenshot it won't let me btw.
