    an old feature that required a link cable that gave you a card, as i recall, never got to use it myself, but you can't use it in the vc version so forget about it

    Yeah, like Mystery Gift back then it used the infrared sensors atop the Game Boy Colors. It was limited to one use per person, meaning you either had to have several friends with the game, or one who was willing to restart their game.

    Card Pop utilized the infared port on the Gameboy Colour to transfer data, you are right that its pretty much identical to Mystery Gift from Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal.
