Question

I just started playing. Are the enemy battles in this game random chance? I can't seem to see any enemies onscreen so far. If so, then what's with "ambush" and "advantage"?

    Yes, all random battles. Ambush means the enemy gets a free shot at you while Advantage means the opposite. Those are also random although there may be stats that alter it.

    Just a thorwback to the oldies. I think Secret of Mana was one of the first RPG's where you fought enemies in real time (well... not counting Zelda of course).
