    The monster doesn't attack after ya cut off its tail so it's pretty reasonable, especially if ya usually forget to go back for the tail.

    It's really a question of whether the hunter's an idiot or not. If he tries to carve when one hit will kill him, he deserves to die. I don't see too much wrong with carving immediately if you can take at least one hit.
