    If you own the Wii U version, yes, you can play with others online or locally. If you own the 3DS version, it is possible to play online... ...But to do so, you need a Wii U, a USB to ethernet adapter, and the MH3U Packet Relay app. If you don't have all three of those items, you will not be able to play the 3DS version online, only locally.
