    You're not “wrong‚” but you're missing out on some huge potential. You can give it an evolite to raise a pre-evolved Pokemon's defensive stats making it much more viable as well, but don't be surprised if someone screams their head off because your Pokemon never evolve like Ash's Pokemon.
