Two questions: Where might I find might seeds early on, and is it better to go with raw or elemental damage on a switch axe?

    You can find seeds in small plant-like gathering spots in moga woods. (I think in areas 2, 7, and 9). Whether you go for raw or elemental damage mostly depends on the monster you're hunting.

    But is it more effective to go as one or the other since slower weapons don't proc as often, but faster ones can? Also dependent on affinity as well I think. I don't know, still learning.

    The on-hit effects of a weapon? Status weapons don't always give the on-hit effects, but elemental weapons always deal their added elemental damage with each swing. I'd recommend an elemental switchaxe over a status, raw, or affinity one, since (as you said) it swings a little too slowly for status attacks (poison, paralysis, sleep) to pay off.

    Glad I could tell you! Also, in case you don't know what affinity is, it's the chance a weapon has to critically strike. Avoid negative affinity weapons: they have a chance to do 25% less damage, rather than 25% more damage. Affinity weapons are also better for faster weapons: more swings means more crits.

    Nah. It just boosts your critical strike chance. Some armor sets have the skill "Status attack up". That skill will increase your status power and lower the number of hits needed to poison or paralyze a monster.

    Killed him, but it took a long time..I have the Bone Smasher SA I think and G. Jaggi set with two attack gems.

    Nicely done! Since you put in two gems to get attack up m, I see that you know how decorations work. When I first started tri, I thought putting in an attack jewel would increase my attack, regardless of what skills I had. X)

    You and me both. But think of it this way: all the solo hunting you've done in 3u will make you significantly better than the wii u players that got to g-rank with help from other players, rather than through their own skill.

    Actually, I think you get it from killing certain low-rank large monsters, like Barroth, Gobul, and Rathian.
