    *drops phone and runs to Target* Villager seems to be pretty common in my area...for now, anyway. I've seen Wii Fit Trainer too, but I have NEVER seen Marth. Lol while I want to go buy them now in case they really are discontinued, I still don't have a Wii U. They'd have to sit on my shelf. :p

    Sounds fishy if you ask me. Discontinuing amiibo in only weeks since their release? In a year or two, yeah, especially if they were some special edition amiibo, but for ordinary amiibo that practically just got on the shelves? I don't buy into that.

    Doesn't make any sense. Every character is going to have lots of people who use them, don't say hardly anyone uses a character because with a fanbase of millions of people worldwide every character has people who like them. Even Pichu has fans, I've seen a few on Miiverse alone.

    @Chris That said, quite a few amiibos have been going out of stock lately in GAME (in the UK), causing a price increase from £11-£15. Amazon are worse, amiibo prices are now averaging around £22 from lack of stock.

    @zat nope. I'm patiently waiting to preorder both amiibo. What it looks like they are doing is waiting until the December group releases to put up any amiibo for 2015. Target still remains silent on if Rosalina is exclusive to them (even though you can tell it will be) Meanwhile Best Buy continues to display it's corporate message that Meta Knight will be exclusive for 2015.     Kid this is true I can see why. Those 3 characters are nowhere near as iconic as the other characters in Wave 1 and thus Nintendo didn't expect to sell many of them. Keeping retail space is hard and even harder in the toy market. They'd be wasting money by keeping these Amiibo on store shelves and they've already confirmed that different Amiibo will eventually be phased out.

    The retailer said they received an email from Nintendo. I believe them. Maybe for now (in prep for Wave 2/3), or forever, the 3 amiibo will be discontinued. Most retailers don't announce when items are out of stock/discontinued. That's why this is the first (and only, so far) announcement.

    This is ridiculous! How can they halt production on these amiibo when the demand is still so high. Marth still goes for more than 3x his retail price!! Same thing goes for the rumored GC controller adapter discontinuation. My little brother was about to throw down close to $100 for one today!

    I can't help but feel bad for the kids who are waiting until Christmas to get SSB4. Then they find out their parents didn't get them a Marth amiibo or a GC adapter. And when they go and try to buy one, they can't due to how expensive they go for. This whole amiibo resease schedule blows imho. Wave 2 should be in late January, not one month after wave 1.

    So this was a tweet? Idk, if it's on Twitter, it should have some weight to it, but "discontinued" is too weighty a word to believe at this point in time. I wasn't planning on getting amiibo any time soon, but I feel, if Reggie took the time in the E3 direct to go over amiibo in-depth and say they would release probably one of each character, none of them should be "discontinued" any time soon.

    I preordered all my Wave 2 figs from Walmart, and got two emails saying THE MANUFACTURER has delayed release of Pit and Capt. Falcon. I did not get emails for any of the others. But it stresses this is from Nintendo, not lack of stock. Anyone else get those emails?

    If true this wouldn’t be the first time GameStop has done this. Kotaku had reported in the past that GameStop told employees that the company printed a few thousand copies of Xenoblade Chronicles with no shrink-wrap in order to restock their inventory, then labeled them as pre-owned. The company then decided to charge $90 for Xenoblades.
