That reminds me of the time Dead Rising 3 got a port to PC and I saw the announcement of it on Facebook. You'd basically see comments like, "Only 25-30% off the price of $59.99? HOW DARE THEY". Only because it has to practically be free before someone even contemplates on getting that specific game. A lot like PlayStation Plus and Games With Gold and their "free" games every/once a month.

It's funnier when they buy a game that they never would, but they bought it because it was 3.99 or something lol

I'd laugh if this wasn't the case from most of the elitist crowd. You can get a decent rig for little more than the price of a console. However, most of these people wanting the "best' spend far too much for nothing but shiny graphics. Which is the least important aspect of gaming. Either way, I play on PC and consoles. Anyone who plays otherwise is missing out.

@Reno: I predict that if Valve ever releases Half-Life 3 and it's at full price, many people will just say "I'll wait till it goes on sale." Some might even pirate it because they don't wanna pay a single penny on it, but ironically enough, they'll spend $1k a year to keep their pride and joy up to date.

@Joseph: To be honest, I have a few games I payed a few bucks for, but never got around to playing. Like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which I payed $2.50 for during the 2012 Christmas sale.

@Anthony: Yeah, yeah, I know, you don't need to pay an arm and a leg for a decent rig, not like I've heard people say that like 65536 times before. I bought a laptop off of Ebay for $300 that can easily handle a lot of games on medium settings, but I'll probably end up replacing it sometime next year with a much better one.

Yeah, I never played that one I heard it was a great game though.

@O_O: That's a broad prediction knowing how "Valve can't count to 3" and all. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if even some people purchased Half-Life 3 at full price or close to it, since knowing that the game finally got a release date and/or was released. But yeah, having their "precious baby" up-to-date for anything is more important than any specific game purchased at full price or lower.

I think you've confused my point. PC elitists are the worst gamers. I'm concurring with your point in general. They'll brag and brag about how their machine is the best and top-dollar, then go and only buy their games for $2.50. You have to respect primary console players for supporting their hobby.

@Anthony: Oh, dammit, my comprehension skills are on the fritz again (probably didn't help that I had a bit of a bad day at work.) PC elitists are indeed the worst. The "PC Gaming Master Race" subreddit is nothing but a cesspit full of nimrods gloating about their gaming preference. In my opinion, console gamers and PC gamers are equally as bad.

Console gaming has all the "MLG" kids on Call of Duty, and PC gaming has all teh angry forein people on Dota 2. There's practically no difference, except PC gaming has more egotistical people who think they're superior because they can mod Skyrim to the point to where it's a completely different game.

Definitely. The elitist crowd is everywhere and are the scourge of gaming. What is worse, they masquerade around calling themselves "hardcore" gamers. When they completely don't understand what the core of gaming actually is.

Holy smokes, that's the first time in my life that I've unintentionally misspelled "the" as "teh." (I also spelt "foreign" wrong.) Anyhow, and if PC's are stronger than consoles, then tell me why my old Sony Vaio laptop can't run games better than a PS2 can, despite it's CPU being about eight times as strong. Yeah. There's a major difference between console hardware and PC hardware.

PCs only recently went past consoles in concerns to power. It started about midway last generation. It all went to their heads after that. What they don't realize is that they STILL are not at the forefront of the industry. And all that power amounts to nothing really. They aren't so significantly better visuals that it hurts or helps the experience in any way. It doesn't change the actual content

That last part reminds me of TotalBiscuit's argument against USED games. And how that other guy who responded to him in a video, explained how PC gaming and Console gaming are two different things and/or majorly different like you said. Contrary to popular belief, even with the purchase of USED games, the developers still see some money back via DLC, Season/Online Passes, Microtransactions, etc.

I don't see why this should be a bad thing about PC gamers. They're always looking for the best deal, and more importantly, they never let a company do something shady and go unpunished. I am sincerely freightened by all the things Microsoft, Sony and third-party publishers can pull off on the console market without any major consequences. This played a big part in my decision to go Nintendo.

They aren't getting away with any of it this gen. Gamers are starting to open their eyes. To me, intentionally waiting for dollar deals shows a lack of support for our beloved hobby. They need more than 60 cents from a one dollar sale to keep supplying us with awesome experiences.
