While I was fighting Pink Rathian, I was trying to freaking hit/dodge her until one of those stupid bugs paralyzed me and I ended up being pinned by her. Even worse, I had the Defense Down status. Stupid bugs. And this was all in G-rank too.

    Yes that is quite frustrating. Kind of like when Barroth is down, you move in to hack the tail off, then some stray Rhenoplos charges and bowls you over, ruining your chance.
