    That is actually incorrect. To play the 3DS version of MH3U online, you need a Wii U, USB to ethernet adapter, & the MH3U Packet Relay app. If you don't have any of the three items I listed, you cannot play online.

    You can not play online on 3DS, only local play with people who also own a copy of the game.

    @Cris, yes you can. But again, you need the three items I listed. It works like this: You connect the Wii U to the internet using ethernet cable- not a wireless connection. This is why you need the USB to ethernet adapter. Once the Wii U is online, you run the MH3U Packet Relay app. On your 3DS, you speak to Neko & choose Port Tanzia (multi). This will take you online.
