so im taking on boramboros for the first time. i use sword and shield and run out of time, then second try i use hammer ( i havents used the larger weapons that much) and i faint. now, what is the point of the larger weapons? yes they do more damage, but you can only get one hit on a monster before you need to dodge and most of the time you are completely vulnerable due to long recovery time

    if your gonna use sword and shield use a fire one and stick close and attack the feet if you trip him down then attack his hump before he gets up. other fire weapons are good but thats my strategy for SnS.

    The "Dobo" is going to take a LONG time to fight, even using fire weapons. As for using heavy weapons, they are more tedious to work with because of their weight, but I found that using a lance is a great choice against him. For starters, you are able to block most of his attacks without a lot of concern since chip damage is minimal. Just be mindful of the stamina bar! Also, even though a lance's

    attack stats may look poor, they are actually able to change their damage TYPE. That means, for example, that if Dobo takes more impact damage than cutting damage on his head, the lance will switch from cutting damage to impact damage automatically!

    My last bit of advice is try to use any poison based weapon available to you. The poison ailment allows you to damage monsters consistently over time. This damage does add up during the fight, so every time Dobo expels tne poison, you could probably poison him again. Poison will also damage Dobo while you heal and sharpen, so you're still hurting him even you're not actually attacking! That's all!
