  • Odd, my 3DS never does that when playing Smash. Every time I exit, it doesn't need a restart at all. I also have no trouble using Miiverse or the browser at all when using Smash, either.

  • The 3ds doesn't have enough RAM to upload to Miiverse or go online, which is why the 3ds restarts. And no update in the world will ever fix it.

  • Smash 3DS requires so much power to run that the 3DS needs to shut off things like the internet browser and Miiverse. Restarting the system after stopping play reactivates those features, or at least that's what I'm told.

  • I think it has to do with the amount of RAM being used on the 3DS.

  • Most likely because the 3DS's hardware doesn't have enough ram to keep the game running in the background whereas the new 3DS has more Ram and more processing power.

  • So did they fix it in the most recent software update? If not and you have just a plain normal 3DS that can go on miiverse while in smash, post screenshots, and close the software without restarting, you have on very special version of smash and/or 3DS.

  • Oh so Good Boy, I looked at your profile and saw your screenshot of Duck Hunt. The fact that yours says "Duck Hunt Duo" means you have a version that isnt the American version right? Huh. I wonder why just American 3DS's can't handle it.

  • There is going to be a new 3DS coming out sometime next year, if you use a new 3DS to play smash, you won't have to restart the system every time you exit. Miiverse, browser and theme shop will also remain usable during play. It's also already out in Australia. (lucky me)
