An open letter to Nintendo: Dear Nintendo, I think the linking of the Nintendo Network IDs and gaming data is extremely dumb, and it makes no sense whatsoever. For example, because my old Miiverse account was banned, (but you can still find the profile, weird) I can no longer play Mario Kart 8 and other games online. MORE IN COMMENTS

  • There is nothing here

  • Because of this, when I and plenty of others get SSB4 and other games for Christmas/ Hanukkah/ Kwanzaa or WHATEVER YOU CELEBRATE, we'll have to switch back and forth between our accounts if we want to go to a different game. I know it sounds like a minior inconvenience, but It could be a major problem for some people in other cases. Ninty, just fix this. PLEASE From, some random kid

  • Sorry, my internet took forever to upload this post.

  • It depends on the game. I know you share save files with Super Mario U. I guess you need to learn there are consequences for your actions.

  • Not even close. While that could make sense in some cases, it usually comes out as cruel and unusual punishment. For example, I have never muttered a swear or controversial word in my entire online gaming career. It just comes out as annoying to me. If I do something bad on Miiverse (WHICH ISN'T EVEN RESTRICTED BY THE CODE OF CONDUCT) that does not mean I will do it in games as well.

  • I think that there should be a monitoring system for games AND Miiverse SEPARATELY.

  • Whoops, @Kasuto, I didn't notice you commented, all those comments were directed towards Ludwig, but I guess the whole "If I do something bad on Miiverse (WHICH ISN'T EVEN RESTRICTED BY THE CODE OF CONDUCT) that does not mean I will do it in games as well." thing works for your thing too. I can understand losing my Miiverse Account, that doesn't matter. But losing my hard-earned, progress, NO.

  • OH. Thanks for the info, Ludwig! I thought since it applied to MK8, it'd apply to all games. Then... I guess this entire post is invalid...

  • Oh, wait, I read that wrong. "An ordinary temp. ban". WAIT, does Miiverse just say "This Nintendo Network ID cannot be used" if it's a temp. ban, or is that just for FULL OMEGA BANS?

    Yeahs0
  • @Dylan, I don't have a clue on what you did to get a banned. In my experience on Miiverse you get multiple warnings before you get a temp ban. Yes, I think the rules are rather inconsistently enforced. It seems to come down to how many people report you. Smash U allows to have access to everything between the different users. They just keep a separate online win lose record for the different

  • Users playing the game. I guess you are going to have to learn the consequences of your previous mistakes.

    Yeahs1
  • Oh, thank god it keeps data between users. And yeh, I guess I know what NOT to do on Miiverse now.
