  • Isn't it actually more the other way around? Nintendo games value aesthetics much more in general which results in less boring looking games, and aside from that, I rarely get issues with the framerate on Nintendo consoles, too.

  • nintendo delivers quality and beutiful games without advertising on their competetors web sites MICROSOFT IM TALKING ABOUT YOU and all the fancy graphics framerates advertisements etc

  • nintendo, sony, and microsoft's graphics are based on preference. if you like realistic graphics then choose a xbox 1 or playstation 4. nintendo doesn't go for a realistic look they go for primary colors which makes their graphics look beautiful in hd (ssb4, mario kart 8, legend of zelda)

Graphics now are so great! I don't know how much better they can get! If you look back at the old pixilated graphics in comparison to graphics now, they are awful! Anyway, this picture shouldn't offend anyone. It's just a joke. or is it...

  • Not to go out on a limb here, but if think the Wii U's sucks graphically, why do you own it? I know it's no PS4, but the Wii U can pull off some pretty awesome graphics. Smash can run 1080p 60fps with 8 players on the screen at once.

  • DJ, it's an exaggeration. You could call it a joke :) Nate, I don't think it sucks graphically. This isn't an anti-Wii U post. Mikao, Tough to say. You never know which are still ongoing until a new sequel is announced. I know a new Gravity Rush and Tearaway are being worked on, and there was just a new Little Big Planet.

  • Lemmy, you could say that, but aesthetics really is a subjective thing. I for one think Naughty Dog's work on Uncharted and The Last of Us has better art direction than anything from Nintendo. Might have less colors, but it's really gorgeous. Again, all preference. Nintendo's visuals are a distinct style.

  • Ps4 is for casual children with bad taste. The only way to go is PC + Wii U.

  • Ah yes, LBP. Probably my favourite Sony franchise by now. Tearaway and Gravity Rush are handheld series, right? Never played them as I don't care for the PSPs. From what I've seen though, GR looks a bit grim, more aimed as teenagers than kids. So I would say Sony takes a more "gritty" and realistic approach than Nintendo does, with an older target demography.

  • On the average on the whole they do, but historically and to this day Sony releases several titles for audiences of any age. Tearaway is getting a PS4 version, but Gravity Rush is handheld only for now. Gravity Rush is a game I wouldn't mind letting my 7 year old nephew play, but it may be geared toward slightly older audiences. Not gritty mature, though.

  • That's true. Most of Nintendo's M-rated games on the older systems were from 3rd parties and weren't even exclusives back then. I guess Gravity Rush is in a similiar boat as the Zelda series, then. Far from gritty, but also not for the youngest kids (especially since the jump to 3D). On a sidenote, the (for me) most "mature" game I played was Shadow of the Colossus.
