☆Advanced Karting☆ - The Art of Fire Hopping Once you've mastered drifting and can drift quite steadily without turning into grass, its time to maximize the distance from your drift. After your drift, when you finish the turn and lead onto a straight path like shown here, unleash the drift and hop over and over again. You will sustain the max speed obtained from the drift! Works with Shrooms!

It's all about the timing - I also notice it doesn't work if you are on a downwards slope. Works best on a straight path going up or is completely flat
