    I've been using the Gamepad ever since Mario Kart 8 release. I did try the nunchuk a couple of times, but I feel the Gamepad gives better control. You also have access to item spy which can help you prepare for oncoming red/blue shells and also when someone is holding a lightning. I won many races with the use of item spy and I'm sure it will help you win many races as well. :)
