In 4U, the lance was buffed. Yes, the loss of water combat just prompted other buffs. First of all, the big one: the Insect Staff/Glaive isn't the only weapon that can jump attack without ledges. The final hit of the lance's dash attack has a quick hop involved. Also, x+a can be inputted while dashing to do a reverse sweep.

    Ya but its still not an actual jump tho just a dash hop like with sns jump attacks on previous gens. Insect glaives allows actual jumping with the vault jump without having 2 run 1st.

    Still, if trip the monster with that attack, you can climb on it's back. It's not a massive pole vault like the Insect Staff can do, but it works in a pinch.

    Ya any jump attack can mount monsters but i was just pointing out its just a dash hop compared 2 an actual high jump.
