Question

Which are you looking forward to more: Charge Axe or Insect Staff? Thanks to Gunlance nerfs, I'm going back to normal lance and picking up the Charge Axe.

    I think the names are Insect Glaive and Charge Blade.But I'm Going for the CHARGE BLADE!!I don't really care for the Glaive all that much.

    I used the Japanese names for the weapons. Also, the gunlance's "lance" part was nerfed in vanilla 4, with less damage and slower speed while the "gun" part got buffed in those regards. I used it more or less like a normal lance (never shelling, only getting off wyvern's fire and full bursts on occasion) and was still getting faster kill times. The Charge Axe is less technical, and easier to pick.

    @Kamadoma, the Insect Staff isn't that fast normally. You need to send the bug out to absorb juices from the monster. They either replenish health or buff attack, defence, or speed, depending on where you hit the monster. You can do it a maximum of three times before engaging and getting a 30-second boost. Triple speed is the norm, from what I've seen.

    Oh ok then. Yeah I did tha same thing with my Gunlance but I'll prolly still use it along with the switchaxe and charge-blade.

    I'll be trying both new weapons but I'll probably mess around with the Insect Glaive more. Mostly because compared to other weapon types it's so foreign to anything previously had in a MH game so it'll definitely be unique to try.
