    Petitions are given to you randomly by villagers. They will "ping" you and when you approach them, they will ask you if you can get a petition signed for them. To get petitions signed, you must visit other towns and talk to residents livingn there! I hope this helps UεU

    well, i dont knoe EXACTLY what it's called, but i calling it pinging.. its basically whenever your villager gets a little exclamation whenever they see you. or, like when they get surprised and they start running/walking towards you (:
