    ...does an elemental discharge). However, apparently it had the highest damage per second (DPs) in 3G/U, so it's understandable. Also, the sword move gets a new double-hit attack, and the axe mode has a "finisher" for its stamina-devouring-but-otherwise-infinite combo.

    You also forgot they added back it's old multiplyer, which is 5.4 (4.6 or 4.6 in mh3u). Which is also understandable. I say that because the Seregios Switch Axe has 1566 attack (1566/5.4=290).

    That 5.4 multiplier was it's original multiplier in mh3, it was later nerfed in mhp3 and mh3u. So I believe the damage drops you are talking about are balanced out with that multiplier. Just imagine if that 5.4 multiplier was in mh3u, the switch axe would be overpowered.

    Thinking of them as a triad is interesting. Switch Axe is DPS, Great Sword is timing based, and Charge Axe/Blade is all about wittling away at the monster to build up the most damaging attacks in the game.
