    a fast character that can deal with zoning and spacing relatively easy, like maybe sonic or captain falcon? theres several characters that can compete against him well, but just like any other character you have to learn how to read them

    @Sparky I'm a big newb at smash, and I'm trying to get into competitive, but I don't really don't know what "zoning" and "spacing" and how to read my opponent, but yeah, I can see sonic and captain falcon can beat link.

    Zoning is using projectiles in a particular manner in order to keep the opponent from rushing down at you and attacking, and spacing is the actual distance between you and your opponent, this is important especially with link because his sword attacks are a bit long range, enabling you to hit some characters while their attacks are out of range.
