This is probably the best of the DKL Series as many of the control and gameplay issues in the previous ones are almost nonexistent in this Game. The Gameplay is smooth and solid, though one of my gripes is about the Time Attack which seemed like it was tacked on...

  • ...My other gripe is that Japan that a GBC Version of this Game that looks fantastic as their version of this Game didn't show up there until almost 2000. All we got was a Super Game Boy enhanced version. Despite these things, it's an excellent Game nevertheless.

  • I wish they would release th gbc version in the west too.

  • They probably won't as they usually don't release Japanese Versions of Games that already have an American Release on VC.

  • I'm annoyed anyway. 3ds could handle DKC and its sequels easily and we get Gameboy watered down versions. I know that snes games are released on WiiU VC but still...

  • What I can't understand is why they release GBA Games on Wii U. I don't think it's fair that only 3DS Ambassadors get to have GBA Games on their 3DS, albeit a limited selection. You would think that GBA Games would be released on 3DS as they were portable games to begin with.

  • Another problem I have with the GB, GBC, GBA VC Games is that they don't allow you to gain access to multiplayer functions. Even the Game Gear VC at least has Local Wireless for their Games. If Nintendo did something similar, they could also bring older Pokémon Games to VC and I'm certain they'd sell extremely well.

  • As for the DKL Games, it was nice they finally were re-released as back in the 90's it was the only way to enjoy a DKC-Type Game on the go. Despite some collision detection issues, they've still held up very nicely over the years.

  • I also sort of wished that would have officially gotten the GBC version of DKL3 in English. It's the version that I generally prefer, mainly due to things being easier to see in color, and it runs a lot more smoothly. Then again, Nintendo doesn't generally do this type of thing, especially when Japan only officially got the GBC version.

  • DKL 3 wasn't released in Japan until 2000 which is why it got a GBC Only release. The Game Boy Color wasn't released until 1998, roughly a year after DKL 3 was released in the US and EU in 1997. Of course, the US was supposedly going to get a GBC Version of Metroid II, so they might have been thinking about this Game to, but probably started working on the GBC Version of DK Country instead.

  • I agree with the Gameboy Advance thing; it makes no sense that they get released in WiU and not 3ds. Fans need to push for that. (and I'm one of the people who got those ambassador games)

  • yeah but then i would never got to play metord fusion

  • At the very least, they could make GBA Titles available on both Wii U and 3DS this way that wouldn't be a problem.

  • your right

  • Lol yeah and you think it would be a no brainer from a business aspect considering they could sell more. Lol there is obviously demand for the games on both systems. Is it so you have to buy the other system if a game you really want is exclusive to that one?

  • Seems that way, though most consumers don't always fall for it.
