    First of all, if you're going to go by text, you gotta go straight to the source material as in what the japanese text says. Second, if Link is dead, it doesn't matter what Sharp says because Sharp is inside Link's own subconscious dream.

    Every NPC in the game already acknowledges Link is alive indirectly by interacting with him. So yeah... you don't have much evidence there

    Also, you can't trust the Zelda timeline in Hyrule Hystoria. The book itself even says the timeline it shows is subject to change. So, it's definitely not canon.
