Anybody like the Link's dead theory and 5 stages of grief? I think it adds to the enjoyment of the game, even though it probably wasn't intended seeing as it started as an OoT lock-on cartridge and was meant to be a side quest first. I still can't help but question the salesman and all the signs that point to this story not being fully real.

Could be. It does open up with his search for Navi. It'd be cool to see a game between Majora and Twilight Princess. All we know is Majora was immediate after OoT, and TP was 100 years or so later, and MM Link exists as a ghost filled with regret. During this gap there was no hero. It's just confusing. I always thought Wind Waker was after MM, but it's a separate timeline.

Which brings up the resemblance of Midna's fused shadow helmet to Majora's Mask, and the "ancient tribe" that used MM for "hexing rituals". Is this the Twili? I know they make it up as they go, but the mystery behind Majora's Mask especially intrigues me, so I'm always digging for more in the timeline.

It's a fun theory, but ultimately isn't true. We know for a fact that the Hero's Shade in Twili Princess is the Hero of Time, who is also the very same Link in Majora's Mask. Now, the Hero's Shade is very clearly an adult version, so that means in all likelihood, this Link managed to become an adult. Given that Twilight and Majora are in the same timeline (HH), Link lived. So, he isn't dead here

Thor that's why I don't think Link is dead in MM but he could be dreaming.

Though, getting lost in the woods turns one into a Stalfos, which I think we've only seen as adult sized monsters. The Hero's Shade doesn't look human. It could be the Hero of Time got lost, and the process of becoming lost and transforming is Termina and MM. But who knows.

It does very much feel like an Alice in Wonderland acid trip using Link's memories, like Ghostie has been saying about him dreaming or something.

perhaps link dead or asleep, maybe it's just like link between worlds and he just found an alternate world cause while there are characters from his past those characters are different from those he knows, as well as having completely new ones thrown in

Well yeah, the alternate world thing is very possible too. At the very beginning of the game Link chases Skull Kid into the world of Termina, and it very much resembles Alice's rabbit hole experience. And there is a reference to Alice in Wonderland in OoT so the creators of the game obviously have an attachment to the Alice story. Maybe Link isn't dreaming, but to me it seems there is strong

evidence that he either is dreaming or the world he fell into isn't true reality. If it IS true and an alternate universe, that's interesting too bc how could Link just accidentally stumble into it?

Also I like the point that Stalfos has never been presented as a child enemy, even though children are the ones often getting lost in the Lost Woods. Matbe Ninten did that on purpose bc the idea of battling the skeletons of children is too grim. You know, kind of like the logic behind being unable to kill kids in Skyrim. (I know they are completely diff. companies. Just an example). But even if

...even if that's why Ninten made all Stalfos adult enemies, it does leave us with a lot of room for speculation about whether MM Link is dead or perhaps dreaming or....just in an alternate reality.

I just watched the newer Link is NOT Dead theory. It actually makes convincing sense and disputes the death points well. But, that just means there needs to be a game in between MM and TP. I think it is unlikely though. We'll have to see if Wii U Zelda abandons the timeline that is getting convoluted or what.

Well in LOZ:LBW (link between worlds) link doesn't just happen upon the alternate world he is more led to it, same within MM he doesn't just happen upon it he follows skull kid so some1 else would have had to come through b4 him

And I doubt this new loz:u game will completely avoid the time line because let's remember that there r 3 different time line setups so it's more than likely that the new 1 will fall under 1 of these 3

Yes I just read an article too and it seems that Link is in fact not dreaming. So Termina is real and is just an alternate universe. As interesting as the theory is, it just doesn't hold up against official Nintendo statements. Oh well, the theory was fun while it lasted. :/ Also if the Link from TP is the descendant of OoT Link he had to have become an adult to have children.

And that point is so obvious. Duh, I cannot believe I overlooked that. Child Link couldn't have created descendants.

Yeah, I guess the assumption is Link went back and married Malon like Talon joked about in OoT, creating the rancher Link in TP. Sadly, it sounds like there won't be a game in between the two if all that happens is Link goes home and grows up peacefully.
