Temporal Heroics in Satellite Stricken Termina Part II: Clock Town Calamity ... continuing a 100% run log here, I'm going to attempt to get everything I can done around town and neighboring Termina Field in two day cycles. I'll probably need four. :p WARNING: Unmarked spoilers appear in the comments. I dig the new location of the Notebook, and agree w/ others. It ties in to the Skull Kid's ...

  • Tell me if this is silly, but I chose to do the Blast Mask on the first cycle of these two mainly to add 100 rupees to my savings during each instead of just once. For those who don't know, silver rupee chest in the tunnel to the Observatory. I'm actually at a loss for what else to do besides lock up the lottery prizes for Bombers Notebook purposes for the rest of the cycle. I could probably get-

Learning a lot if I ever get interested in minimum cycle 100% running though, or Nintendoer wants to absolutely destroy me in a revenge challenge. :p I'm going to use this awesome new convenient Song of Double Time to keep the Lotto cheat moving, then

  • dare I say it, bomb some Dodongos. I enjoy having the Clock Town Savings final event close to complete well before having the ideal wallet space to do it efficiently. I'm deranged like that. I do have a very crucial third day event to attend to that is imperative to my playing style though. I'll comment about that next most likely. Poor Anju is leaving town pretty soon this cycle.

  • I came up with a productive activity - getting the two cheap maps from the early accessible Tingle locations! Also I wanted to target Takkuri to spell that name right. I'm in the camp that thinks the nighttime respawning Blue Bubbles and daytime Dodongos w/ the Gilded Sword and the hole reset nearby are much faster means of rupee mining than magic arrow blasting that thieving bird ...

  • Yeah well done. I'll be improving on your work eventually here John Henry. You can probably guess why I've soared Link to Milk Road on the third day. Not to witness the shambles of the women hiding out at Romani Ranch, but because I can't play MM with gusto when the power of the wild isn't an equipped item away.

  • But the heartbreak here, wow. This is my first glimpse of just how dark MM is on this playthrough. TP gives it a run for its moribund money, but the suffering of Termina, stuck in a loop while Link tries his best with no lasting impact based on the nature of his methods ... it is strong medicine.

  • I am some kind of sick though, because given that my second Clock Town cycle is basically just running through Anju and Kafei's action for two masks and their corresponding heart pieces, I'm considering trying to finish the saving project during that. It's so wasteful given how much game is left and the rupees that will be squandered when the Song of Time plays, so I don't think I will.

  • I'll toss the easy ones in the bank, but I've done enough Dodongo slaying at six hits each to satisfy me. :p Straight to exploitation of Double Time and my first foray this file deep into the intrigue of strange love between an innkeeper and a man turned boy. Quick summation of the first full cycle of freedom shown here ...

  • I think the security change on stealing Goron Link's room is very cool. That said, overhearing the conversation between Anju and the Postman was my intention. Guess I'll save that for the time of Link's trek to the true ending of the sidequest.

  • Somehow I always forget about this free 60 rupees made available by the second day's rain. Such a neat detail in this examination of time's passage ... humming along this light second cycle schedule, just skipping to precise hours w/ nothing else on my agenda except running the Anju/Kafei/Aroma gamut one of the two times necessary for 100% completion. I'll only deposit 300 rupees, offsetting ...

  • the massive collection I chipped in on the first cycle. 6½ hearts and 9 masks w/out going past the Business Scrub in the Southern Swamp? Two 3-day cycles, mainly very leisurely after the initial day? Nice! This is the first time that I kind of grasp the two cycle 100% idea (three counting the initial Deku curse one), but boy, you'd have to be absolutely razor sharp. I've always understood one ...

  • cycling it any percent, not that I think I'm anywhere close to good enough to do it. Wildly off topic and tired, and though I realize I'm leaving out an early bottle, I'm not adding another Song of Time performance before getting into the part of the game that I truly enjoy. Dungeon head until the end folks. Some calamity in Clock Town has been temporarily alleviated, but that Ocarina washes ...

  • Ha! I was about to go to sleep and the All-Night Mask portion of 100%ing dawned on me. Okay, now I only understand 4 cycling that kind of playthrough. Not to mention taking the time to gain four bottles to posdibly one cycle an any%er ... cast into confusion again. Am I becoming a Majora's Mask fan after all of these years? :p Gone for real this time ...

  • If you're offering, I would love to do a 100% race with you sometime. This time, we wouldn't need to do anything crazy with the activity log, considering the game has a built-in timer.

  • That does sound like fun! I have a very busy gaming schedule until summer time most likely, w/ the Metroid Prime Trilogy, Xenoblade remake, and HW stuff still trickling in. But I'm in after that! The MQ race was fun, and perhaps we can try for better times on that too. I think we'd probably still have to use the Activity Log though, unless you want it strictly as a cycle race. • I was thinking about just keeping track of time using the in-game clock. Essentially, the race would end when we have 19 hearts and 23 masks (with only the items on the moon remaining), and we would post our time and which cycle we're on when this is accomplished. I was thinking we ban the use of inverted time, to help level the playing field (since I have already done a minimal cycle 100% run).
