Fierce Diety Link is Majora's Mask's equivalent of Ocarina of Time's Shadow Link. That is to say...Highly overrated and actually pretty lame. (See also: Boba Fett and Sephiroth)

He means the dark Link you fight in the water temple that everyone loves for some reason, he is just giving his opinion of their comparison. While i think FD is less important in this version with the boss changes, i still think you're a troll and “negative nancy.”

No, Fierce Deity was never important. And actually, this is one of my favorite 3d Zelda games. Well, the N64 version is, anyway. I've just never understood why so many people love this mask so much.

But uh, I knew he meant Dark Link I was just being smart. However... FD never was compared to DL... it's a completely different entity. A deity in the world of Termina. Presumably the opposite of Majora.

That doesn't make any sense. There's about as much mystery behind the Mask of Scents, the bunny hood, and the All-Night Mask as there is the Fierce Diety mask. There's absolutely no story attached to it whatsoever. It just turns Link in to an oni, which is why he's called "Oni Link" in Japan. It's just some random demon.

And it's absolutely comparable to Dark Link, in that they're both been singled out as some kind of awesome, symbolic big deal in the game they each appeared in. But in reality, one is just a minor mini boss and the other is a little completion bonus.
