    For whatever reason I can't reply to your post in your activity feed so I'll reply here. 1st, you are suppose to land and take off into the wind, aka the plane should be flying in the opposite direction of the wind arrow. The logic behind this is that the plane doesn't have to move as fast to generate the same amount of lift. That means slower landing speed, and shorter take off distance.

    When air is blowing on the back side of the plane, it's called a "tail-wind-take-off", or a "tail-wind-landing." This game is complicated. You really have to understand EVERYTHING to play.

    on a strong HEADwind, nothing. You are suppose to do that. On a strong tailwind, landing plane might call off their landing and turn around for another landing, and you have to go thru the whole process of assigning runway and clearing landing all over again, and suffer a score penalty. For take-off plane, you just receive a score penalty.
