    To play the 3DS version online, you need to get a USB to ethernet adapter for your Wii U, & connect the Wii U to the 'net using ethernet cable. Then you download & run the MH3U Packet Relay app. This will let your 3DS play online. So no friend codes are needed here.

    Honestly though, if you want to play MH3U online, save yourself a bit of money & a lot of hassle, & just buy the Wii U version of MH3U. You can transfer your save data between the two versions, & online play with the Wii U version is soooo much better than on 3DS.
