    Unplug and shut the ststem down. Plug back in same, or in another port. Then re-start the console, and game.

    I was referring to trying a different USB plug for the portal. Just incase there was a misunderstanding. If it doesn't work after that. Then it might be broke. If you have Infinity 1.0 also, it is the same portal as the 2.0. Unless you have only 1 portal to begin with. If it is broke you can find them on-line as a last resort.

    Yes the portals are the same. I am using my 1.0 portal. I never plugged in my portal that came with 2.0 starter pack.

    The portals are generic to each game. It isn't like Skylanders. The playsets, characters, and game disc are the only differences.
