[Nintendo on Giving Other Franchises the Mario Maker Treatment] NOA's Bill Trinen states that whilst Nintendo have nothing to announce at present, "depending on how people react, we’ll see if the teams take a similar approach with other franchises." Trinen added that "Mr. (Takashi) Tezuka is working hard on Mario Maker and the game is progressing really nicely" Continued in top comment.

    I could imagine homemade Zelda dungeons, but I think they would take much more work and creativity than a Mario stage. To me, it's like the difference between Linerider and Minecraft.

    Honestly I have a hard time seeing how a Zelda Maker would work out. I can see this fitting more of the platform games much more easily like Metroid, Kid Icarus, Ice Climbers, etc The Mario Kart Maker would be based I assume on the original Mario Kart?

    It won't work for most franchises like zelda, pokemon or Xenoblade but I can see it for Mario Kart(to a small extent), F–Zero, Fire Emblem but actually pokemon might work but it might take a lot of time for the developers to make and the users to create.

    A classic donkey kong level maker or a metroid 2d level maker would be awesome!Don't sleep on mario maker like ammiboos I expect mario maker to be a huge success for nintendo.

    I can see Zelda getting the treatment. Not sure about the 3D Zelda. More like the NES & maybe SNES ones. Reading some of these comments, Metroid Maker would be awesome. I rather see Metroid more than Zelda.

    Frankly, I couldn't care less about Zelda Maker. I'd rather just see Mario Maker sequels and maybe eventually Kid Icarus Maker. Or even something where you can combine elements from several different NES games. Like NES REMIX, but you could create an entire adventure, rather than just individual challenges.
