'Sometimes victory on the battlefield requires that someone you care about making a sacrifice' -Nameless Villager Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon ...Still true for this game. Well unless you play on casual/ reset/ plan ahead to the degree where that never happens... but that kinda does take away some of the Fire Emblem charm don't you think?

  • What do you mean with plan ahead? Planning turns or my team ahead doesn't take the fun away imo. Or did you mean in the sense of a Nuzlocke where one could try a chapter before the actual update? In that case, yep. (And since Lunatic resetting is kind of a part of FE for me)

  • @Boris In the sense of a nuzlocke yeah, I get that planning a team normal game is fun it's something I myself enjoy doing ^-^

  • Planning ahead and making strategies makes me feel awesome. :3 Though, trying a chapter before the actual update in a nuzlocke is just...wat? o_o

  • @Paul I've never done it. It would just spoil it for me, I even feel bad playing on my regular files when I do a nuzlocke! Besides that takes all the fun out of it. Example chapter 16, if you know when reinforcements come you plan around it and then you don't lose anyone. I'd just find replaying the chapter dull then. Still yeah planning and watching your plan beautifully emerge is so satisfying.

  • @Paul What I thought was this: The next chapter is the Mila tree and I'm in a nuzlocke, I play the chapter without updating, get massacred, try it again, beat it, reset. Now I know how I can beat the chapter and now I make the update, this way nobody dies. Ways to avoid a Mila Tree massacre.

  • @Boris I couldn't understand why someone would do that. I mean losing all those units hurt, I felt like a really bad player but it was a learning experience. Besides nuzlockes are meant to be for fun anyway. You gain little by cheating anyway, maybe some more units but what's the point of doing the challenge f you're going to cheat?

  • @Rebecca I don't know it either. The Nuzlocke wouldn't be fun for the player and less entertaining for the viewer.

  • @Boris Exactly, since this is meant to be a fun challenge that does remove the entire point if you cheat...

  • Plus, it's awesome if you manage to do it on your first try and more realistic.

  • @Paul I know! That feeling of just beating a chapter you thought someone would die on or you always find difficult is amazing! I often get very unlucky with the first few chapters in my regular files, doing them with no deaths for my nuzlockes always makes me smile :)

  • Hacks and cheats just spoil the fun for everyone. -.- Playing Pokemon with my friend used to be fun, but then he found a site where he got tons of Lvl 100 legendaries with ridiculous movesets...

  • @Zaid: Hacking and cheats can be great fun, especially if you've already beaten the game the legit way. Just messing with the game and bending it in different ways can be incredibly entertaining. ^_^ ... Hacking and cheating to have an advantage over other players just makes you look like a n00b who needs to rely on cheat codes to win. -_-

  • @Paul Glitching and messing up the game is fun, yeah, but if I hacked 9999999999999999999999 Gil for myself in FF or whatever, I personally don't see the fun in that. My opinion though; feel free to hate.

  • @Zaid That would be really boring... I mean maybe fun for a bit to be so rich but after awhile it would be really boring.

  • @Rebecca I used cheats in Pokemon Soul Silver once because I was bored. It's entertaining to break the game in several ways but it's super boring αfter a few hours.

  • @Boris I've never actually used cheats... just never came to mind to do so. Now glitches on the other hand...good old glitches...*cough*Giant Jigglypuff in Brawl*cough*

I think it's fine to reset if you are on Lunatic(+) otherwise it gets boring. I tried a no reset no unnecessary mission play of Awakening and my left over people that are usable Lon'qu, Morgan, Say'ri, Miriel, and Nowi. Stuck on 'to slay a god' because Chrom gets murdered by reinforcments so yeah and Elti is stuck as an assassin
